Chicago

Bio Image“Employee communicators finally have the ears of today’s C-suite executives. Now that they’re listening, it’s our responsibility to show them the value of strategic internal communication.”

As a former newspaper reporter, Dave understands the necessity of understanding his audience, and communicating in a way that makes sense to them. This is a principle he’s successfully applied for more than a decade of counseling clients on strategic employee communications. He believes the key to successful employee communications rests in translating complex information into a language that makes sense to employees, reflects their attitudes and concerns, and motivates them to perform.

More than seven years ago, Dave helped establish Insidedge as a premier employee communications consultancy. Since then, he’s partnered with diverse clients including Verizon Wireless, CA, Quest Diagnostics, McDonald’s, Tyson Foods and BP increase their effectiveness through strategic employee communications. Prior to Insidedge, Dave was a key member of Hill & Knowlton’s employee communications asset group. He spent the first decade of his career as a journalist for the Associated Press, Northwest Herald and Daily Herald in Illinois, covering government, politics and business.

Dave is an avid – though thoroughly downtrodden – Chicago Cubs fan and alternative music junkie. He lives in Oak Park, Illinois with his wife, Lynn, his son, Nathan, his dog, Santo and the ghosts of Ernest Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright.
